New maori inspired forearm tattoo

Hi!

I'm still working on some other custom tattoo projects, but there is some time left to add some new flash designs to my collection.
These images are for sale on my website and you can also order it right on this page.
I made a sketch for a forearm tatoo which can be used for both the inside of the lower arm as the outside.

Here 's the first pencil sketch I made:

The design is filled with a repetitive line pattern, simple but it gives a clean look to the overall image.
I traced it and then went to work in Photoshop, to touch up the tattoo and add a nice depth/3d effect.
Here's the final tatoo, the original size is 31 x 14 cm (12 x 5,5 inches)

Price for the stencil and high resolution image is 29,75 euro (42 USD)

New tattoo designs added to Storm3d.com

Hi!

A few months ago I started working on a new set of tattoo designs. At this moment I created 6 new designs and updated my galleries on storm3d.com.

The first design is for the lower leg, placed on the shin and the sides will wrap around the calf.
The second design can also be used for the calf or shin, but it would look good on the forearm/shoulder as well.

The three designs below are designed for the forearm.

Tribal tattoo wrapping around the forearm

Hi!

As promised, here's another design projects I have been working on in the weeks behind.
Forearm and leg tattoos (especially symmetrical designs) are my favourite pieces to draw. I really like the idea of a flowing design that is not too complicated, that gives a nice clean look. That is also why I use symmetry a lot.
This design is for a customer from the UK, he wanted a complete forearm tattoo, wrapping around and having a seamless fit.

You can see the tatoo sketches below:

I started with the flowing koru curles and added a line of spear- or arrowheads in the centerline of the tattoo. Then I made some fills with lines and triangles and the 6 small curls bending towards the arrowheads. Finally I added a few stars.

My customer liked some oldskool sharp tribal shapes, so in the second sketch you can see that I added it to the design:

I get quite a large amount of requests for custom tattoos, so I have to pick and choose the design projects I like best. If you are interested in this kind of designs, for the forearm or lower leg, you can contact me by here.

Till soon!

Oohps, almost forgot to show you the final result :)

Maori forearm tattoo design

Hi!

Yesterday I published the first tattoo design of my new collection in Maori/Kirituhi style.
I created a total of 4 new forearm tattoos, which can be purchased here.

This one is also a symmetrical design for the lower arm with some leave/fern shapes in it. I really enjoy drawing this kind of sketches and images, the symmetry gives a clean and sharp look.

The original size is around 24 x 14 cm (9,5 x 5,5 inches), but it's a high resolution design, so you can scale it to adjust it to arm.
Price for this design is 29,75 euro / 40 US dollars.

As soon as I receive your payment, you'll receive an e-mail with the high resolution design (.jpg file) and a sheet/ linedrawing for your tattoo artist.

New forearm tattoo design in Kirituhi style

Hi there,

At the moment I'm working on a new collection of tribal tattoo designs, the first series consists of 4 forearm / lower arm tattoo designs, with feathers in a symmetrical style.
My plan is to create around 30 or 40 new tattoo designs in Maori/Kiri tuhi style, which will be added to my website/webshop at the end of April. But to give you a small preview, I will post the designs on my blog for you, so you'll be the first to see.
Normally I don't shade my designs, but to give the image another dimension and more body I decided to use it in this flash series.

Size is 28 x 15 cm (11 x 6 inches), but because it's a high resolution design, you can re-scale it.
Price for this design is 29,75 euro / 40 US dollars.

As soon as I receive your payment, you'll receive an e-mail with the high resolution design (.jpg file) and a sheet/ linedrawing for your tattoo artist.

Kirituhi forearm tattoo design

Hi!

Here's a forearm tattoo design in Kirituhi style, it's a custom design for a customer from the USA.
He wanted an original Maori piece on his left forearm and a Kirituhi design on his other forearm.
The size of this tattoo sketch is 25 cm long and approx. 12 cm wide, narrowing down to 6 cm at the wrist.

First I started to draw the outline of the design and began filling the shape with flowing lines, koru curves and sharp edges.

I sent it to the customer to check if I was heading in the right direction. He really liked the first preview, so I could start on the fill with some tribal patterns.

Here are two pictures of the sketch, the outlines, the total sketch and finally the completed design.

Tribal forearm tattoo tutorial video on youtube

Hi,

It has been really nice job to do some filming and editing for my latest design "tutorial"
First I had to set up my new camera (Panasonic HDC-SD9) which records in Full HD quality ;) on a sd-card.
I recorded several scenes and edited it in Windowns Movie maker, I'm not a pro on editing, so I used this simple tool to add some titles and credits. Then uploaded it to youtube and Voila! here it is!

In this video to show you how I create and uptimized my designs. This time it's a forearm sketch in tribal style, which I'm tracing in the first video, I posted the sketches yesterday, so you can find it in my previous posting. In the second one you see how I scan the design, uptimize it and make a high resolution linedrawing in Photoshop CS3.

I received the following e-mail from my customer when he got the high resolution design:

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Hi Mark,

Thanks for completing, I love it :)

Can't wait to get it done and will definitely send you some photos once complete.

As some feedback I would like to say that you have provided a very professional, simple and friendly service.
Excellent communication with your client and a great turnaround time from start to finish. I am recommending your designs and great customer service to friends and I will be checking in to your blog for your new designs for a future tattoo.

(Please feel free to use this quote, online or elsewhere)

Many thanks,

Rich Wallace."

forearm tattoo design in Kirituhi tribal style

Hi,

Just a nice project today, really enjoying these kind of designs. This one is a mixture of tribal styles and a bit of my own "storm3d-style" ;)

maori forearm tribal tattoo designforearm tribal maori tattoo designThis tatoo sketch is inspired by another custom design I did. You can find that shoulder tattoo design here.

The total height is 22 cm x 8 to 10 cm in width. It's for the inside of the lower arm.

My client wanted some strong traditional triangle patterns, and flowing lines to balance out the tat2.

Just let me know what you think!

Forearm tatoo design seamless fit

Hi There,

This week I have been working on a large project, a maori / kirituhi forearm design.
Like other sleeves, this tattoo design had to be wrapped around the forearm completely and make a seamless fit.

Here you'll see a few pictures of the design in different stages:

drawing tutorial tattoo imagesmaori tattoo for the forearmforearm maori kirituhi style tattoo

final forearm seamless mauri designThe size of the design is 27 cm high and the width at the elbow is 30 cm and at the wrist it's 18 cm.

To make sure the design fit's seamless I first draw one side of the design and copy it. Then I place it against the other side and continue the design. I always try to keep the lines flowing and the fills interesting.

The customer liked the tattoo immediately, so I only had to make some minor changes to this drawing. Here are a few pictures of the process of tracing the design:

Tomorrow I will be working on an armband in maori / kirituhi design. Really enjoying this kind of projects, where I can use my own style and mix it with Maori shapes and symbols.

Tattoo in memory of grandfather in tribal style

Hi there,

I received a message from a customer who would like to have a tattoo to remember his grandfather who past away. He wanted to have a design of 12 cm x 6 cm on the inside of his lowerarm. The only thing I had toincorporate was a Myosotis flower.

The first sketch was a bit too curly and feminin as you can see:

I had to make a new sketch and it worked out really nice. It's a symmetrical design with the flower right in the middle. The flower needed some color, so I used yellow and blue for it.

Here's the final design:

I'll get back with some new designs soon!
